Felt me up

Before we came to live back in Sheffield, I used to teach quilling at a lovely craft shop in Letchworth. One day I went in and the owner was over the moon at the things she had been making. The felting needles and roving had arrived. She was turning out bears very quickly - she is one of those maddening people who can do anything!

So I bought my needles and wool and the little book and never really did anything with it. Then last Sunday I was trawling through the net and searching blogs and I came across this blog here and was blown away.

I found my needles and wool and set to work immediately, what you see on the blog makes my little teddy look pretty pathetic, but this is the first one I have ever done, and little Miss Lavender, she needs a hat and some beads and then she will be perfect, despite having one foot larger than the other - so difficult to get them the same size, but the professionals tell me it's just practice... She looks a bit serious, but then teddys have serious decisions to make, like what kind of honey to have for tea.
Miss Lavender is sitting on a 1950's eggcup, probably not her permanent home, but who knows, she may make a serious bid for it.

Oh, this is so cute, Rosie!!
I found the felt alive homepage some months ago and I loved it.
Have you seen her youtube videos?
Hope you'll show us more of your felt creations. You seem to be very talented.

What a great bear - I thought she was larger until you mentioned the egg cup - I can just see her in a hat with flowers:)

Hope you don't mind but I'm using your comments box to answer the question you asked me about Cyclamens. I don't know too much but there are two types the cultivated, indoor ones and the hardy outdoor ones. Usually you plant the tubers and when they are finished keep them for the next season. The outdoor ones once established will re-seed themselves. There are several sites which mention the seeds and you can plant them but they have to be fresh from the plant tuber - not sure about older ones - if you google Cyclamen Society - there is lots of info there:)

The little bear is just adorable. I'd have to say you are one of those people who can do anything too, but you definitely don't fall into the maddening category. :-)
